YouthActionNet Global Fellowship

Launched in 2001 by the International Youth Foundation, YouthActionNet strengthens, supports, and celebrates the role of young people in leading positive change in their communities. Each year, 20 exceptional young social entrepreneurs are selected as YouthActionNet Global Fellows following a competitive application process. The year-long Fellowship program includes:

Skill-building:

* A seven-day leadership retreat for twenty selected Fellows which offers dynamic peer-to-peer learning, collaboration, and sharing among young visionaries
* Focus on the personal growth and leadership abilities of Fellows, in addition to providing instruction in specific skills required to manage innovative, world-changing organizations
* Year-round learning opportunities based on Fellows' individual needs and the six dimensions of leadership highlighted in the YouthActionNet® Global Curriculum: Personal, Visionary, Political, Collaborative, Organizational, and Societal.

Networking and Resources:

* Networking with international and national aid agencies, NGOs, and corporate partners
* Access to potential resources to support Fellows and their projects, including volunteers, mentors, and grant opportunities
* Peer-to-peer networking throughout the year

Advocacy:

* Training in areas such as communications planning, media outreach, message development, presentation skills, and innovative uses of new media technologies
* Access to global advocacy platforms and media coverage

Eligibility

* Open to all young people aged 18-29
* Applicants should be founders of existing projects/organizations, or leading a project within an organization.
* Proficiency in English is required; applications must be submitted in English
* Must be available to attend full retreat, October 1-8, 2010, in Washington, DC.

Applications for the 2010 Fellowship program are due by: April 9, 2010Selected semifinalists will be notified by May 15, 2010.
The 2010 retreat will take place from October 1-8, 2010

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS TO FOREIGN STUDENTS TENABLE IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM FOR THE 2010/2011 ACADEMIC SESSION

With His Majesty`s consent, the Government of Brunei Darussalam is offering annual scholarships under a special scholarship award scheme, commencing in 2010/2011 academic session. The scholarships are offered for Bachelors, Masters, and Phd Degree Program.

Tenable in Brunei Darussalam, the aim of the Scholarship awards is to provide students, with the opportunity to study at Universiti Brunei Darussalam [UBD], Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali [UNISSA] and Institut Teknologi Brunei [ITB]. The academic year for UBD, UNISSA and ITB commences in July / August 2010.

1. ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be citizens of ASEAN, OIC, Commonwealth Member Countries and others and must be between the ages of 18 – 25 at the commencement of the academic session for which they are applying for admission. However, under exceptional case, the age limit requirement may be waived for candidates who are applying for Masters and PhD Programmes.

The awards are NOT eligible to Brunei Permanent Residents and foreigners residing in Brunei Darussalam for more than three months. The Scholarship award is normally tenable according to the duration of the specific programme which is four years for an Honours First Degree or one to two years for a Master`s Degree or three years for a Doctoral programme at UBD, UNISSA and ITB, two and a half years for HND at ITB on full-time basis.

2. TENURE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship award is subject to the scholar maintaining satisfactory conduct and satisfactory progress in the scholar`s studies (this requires the scholar to maintain an active registration status by passing the prescribed semester examinations and obtaining the minimum course credit units).

3. TERMS OF AWARD
The scholarship covers

* Tuition fees.
* Air-tickets by economy class for which the scholar will only be provided on the following occasions:
o from the scholar`s home country to Brunei Darussalam at the commencement of the programme;
o from Brunei Darussalam to the scholar`s home country after the completion of the programme.
* Free medical and dental treatment at any Government hospital subject to conditions stipulated by the Ministry of Health. However there will be administrative charges for every consultation (currently at B$3.00), admission to class A1, A2 and A3 wards and charges for certain dental treatment as stated in the schedule 1 Dental Treatment issued by the Ministry of Health.

Other allowances payable will include:
- Monthly personal allowance of B$500.00.
- Annual Book Allowance of B$600.00.

4. PROGRAMME OFFERRED

Completed application forms, together with certified copies of relevant certificates and documents, must be returned to the Technical Assistance Department not later than 28 February 2010.

Beasiswa Habibie Centre


Yayasan Sumber Daya Manusia dalam Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi (Yayasan SDM-IPTEK) didirikan oleh Prof. Dr.-Ing. B.J. Habibie (mantan presiden RI) pada tahun 1997. Badan pengurus yayasan ini diketuai oleh Prof. Dr. Ing. Wardiman Djojonegoro, mantan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, dan memiliki tujuan :

* Mewujudkan sumber daya manusia Indonesia yang unggul dan memiliki kualitas Iman dan Takwa yang tinggi.
* Menguasai, mengembangkan dan mengendalikan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi secara mandiri.
* Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut di atas, Yayasan melakukan kegiatan sebagai berikut:
* Memberikan beasiswa untuk tingkat S3 (Doktor),
* Memberikan penghargaan dan hadiah kepada orang atau Badan yang telah berjasa atau melakukan terobosan di bidang Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi (Habibie Award).
* Mengembangkan Sumber Daya Manusia dalam Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi (Iptek).
* Membentuk atau membantu berdirinya Pusat Peragaan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi.

BEASISWA S3

Beasiswa diberikan 2 (dua) kali setahun yaitu:

1. Periode bulan Mei
Formulir harus sampai di panitia paling lambat 21 April tahun berjalan.
2. Periode bulan Nopember
Formulir pendaftaran diajukan paling lambat tanggal 20 Oktober.

Persyaratan yang harus dipenuhi untuk beasiswa S3.

* Usia maksimum 35 tahun.
* Tidak menerima beasiswa dari lembaga atau sumber lainnya.
* Sudah diterima atau telah mendapatkan surat keterangan diterima dalam program S3 di perguruan tinggi atau lembaga yang berada di Indonesia.
* Selama mengikuti program S2, penerima beasiswa S3 harus mendapatkan nilai cum laude atau minimal berada pada peringkat ke-5.
* Pendaftar harus menyerahkan dua rekomendasi dari tokoh ilmuwan dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi.
* Pendaftar harus menunjukkan sikap kepemimpinan dalam bidangnya dan memiliki tingkat integritas dan kreatifitas yang tinggi.

PROSES PENDAFTARAN DAN SELEKSI

Pendaftar harus mengisi formulir pendaftaran secara lengkap disertai dengan dokumen penunjang. Pemilihan penerima beasiswa ditentukan dalam sidang dewan pakar yang telah ditentukan oleh Yayasan.

Seleksi dilakukan berdasarkan 5 (lima) kelompok bidang ilmu yakni:

* Kelompok Ilmu Dasar,
* Kelompok Ilmu Kedokteran dan Bioteknologi,
* Kelompok Ilmu Rekayasa,
* Kelompok Ilmu Sosial, Hukum, Ekonomi dan Politik,
* Kelompok Ilmu Filsafat, Agama dan Budaya.

TUNJANGAN

Beasiswa yang diberikan berupa:

* biaya pendidikan (SPP) dan dana studi lainnya,
* tunjangan tugas akhir,
* tunjangan biaya buku/fotokopi,
* tunjangan biaya hidup,
* tunjangan biaya transportasi dari daerah ke tempat kuliah (jika saat melamar ada di daerah di luar tempat belajar)

TRAINING AND FELLOWSHIP in Singapore

We invite applications from doctors and related medical scientists for training at the Singapore General Hospital.

SGH is the largest and main teaching hospital in Singapore for postgraduate and advanced training of specialist doctors. We have a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and ambulatory specialties. We also accept requests from overseas doctors who wish to undertake fellowship and short training courses in our Hospital.

Fellowships
We offer the SGH Clinical Fellowships (for foreign medical specialists) and SGH Research Fellowships, mainly for doctors in the ASEAN region who wish to train or undertake research in any one of our clinical departments. These two Fellowships are offered once a year. Other fellowships offered are Orthopaedic Fellowship Programme, SGH Research Fellowship in Experimental Surgery, Fellowships in Anaesthesia, Goh Cheng Liang Urology Fellowship, and SGH Fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology.


Training
Training is available in these categories:

* Clinical Attachment
* Research Fellowship

Generally, no training fee is levied on applicants who seek training positions in SGH, however, SGH reserves the right to levy charges if necessary.

SGH-PGMI is the coordinating body between the applicant and the clinical department and between the successful applicant and the local regulatory agencies, e.g. the Singapore Medical Council, Immigration, etc. Applicants can look forward to seamless administrative service provided by us.
